Happening on February 23rd, 2023 is the Gridiron Greats Celebrity Golf Classic at the Anthem Country Club in Scottsdale, Arizona. You may wonder, what are the Gridiron Greats? Well, the Gridiron Greats are an organization whose mission is to assist retired NFL players and their families in distressing situations. The Gridiron Greats provide direct help to the players with the hardships they may have faced coming out of the NFL. Some of the provided services from the Gridiron Greats include medical assistance, pro-Bono orthopedic surgeries, housing assistance, financial assistance for utilities, medication, food, and more living essentials.

The Gridiron Greats Celebrity Golf Classic will be hosted by former NFL player and 2-time super bowl champion, Jim McMahon. Jim started his career playing football in college for the BYU Cougars where he won the Davey O’Brien Award and Sammy Baugh Trophy as a senior. He then started his professional football career when he was the fifth overall pick by the Chicago Bears in the 1982 draft. Since then, Jim McMahon has been playing in the NFL for fifteen years before retiring. Jim is passionate about the Gridiron Greats and the work they do.

Through this event, the Gridiron Greats purpose is to host the first ever cannabis friendly charity event that is connected to the NFL. Additionally, they hope to utilize their platform to send a powerful message to the NFL and other organizations who still do not have an effort to see cannabis for the medicinal purposes it provides to many. The Gridiron Greats are also using this event to share personal stories from NFL players and having organizations share why cannabis can be so healing, one of which will be Cannabis Talk 101. Overall, the Gridiron Greats Celebrity Golf Classic will be one of the many efforts to educate others on cannabis use, connecting with others, and coming together for a good cause.

We hope to see you on February 23rd!
